FITability
The ACT Taverners are supporting the ACT ‘FITability’ association which offers assistance and opportunities to disabled bicycle riders. This assistance is provided in the form of specially designed tandem bicycles via which disabled riders are given the opportunity to participate in cycling tours and also to compete in competitive events. A capable rider occupies the front seat on the tandem, whilst the disabled rider has the rear seat. The purchase and maintenance of one of these specially designed tandems has been made possible via a Taverner donation of $4000.
