The Lord’s Taverners, CIC Australia – Colliers International 2011 Charity Golf day

Brendan Jones at 2011 Taverner Golf Classic

On 7 March 2011, Royal Canberra Golf Club once again opened its facilities for the staging of this annual event with its unique format.  A strong field of professional and amateur golfers competed in a fun day for both team and individual prizes. There were a good number of corporate supporters from the Canberra business community, enhanced by members  from the Lords’ Taverners ACT ranks to make up a highly competitive field.  With the Regional Golf Tours about to commence, our local professionals once again showed their  commitment to charity by throwing their support behind the Lords’ Taverners ACT.

Brendan Jones was our guest speaker and gave attendees an insight into some of the characters at the top end of world professional golf.
Prizes this year included fine wines, a cricket bat signed by the Australian Test Team and a trip for two to New Zealand with tickets for the 2011 Rugby World Cup .  A day of golf with Brendan Jones was be auctioned off as one of star items.

Lords’ Taverners ACT regards the event as a huge success  (over $14,000 was raised for its beneficiaries this year) and many supporters have already indicated their support for the 2012 event.
