The Lord’s Taverners (ACT Branch) is committed to raising funds to help young and disadvantaged sportspeople.  Below are some of those we currently support, with links giving more details.

  • Indigenous Cricketers.



    * The Imparja Cup is an annual cricket tournament between state indigenous cricket teams.  The Lord’s Taverners ACT Branch supports the ACT team annually and the funds given are administered by Cricket ACT.  The ACT Branch also gave funds through the national Lord’s Taverners to assist an indigenous team to tour the UK in 2009.

    * Super 8 Indigenous Schools Day.  This local sporting day is organised by Cricket ACT for junior high school indigenous students. ...Read more

  • The Lord’s Taverners Spirit of Cricket Awards are awarded at an annual event to several junior and senior individual acts of true sportsmanship across the season, recognising the value that these acts add to cricket.  The program is administered by Cricket ACT.

  • Table Top Cricket is held annually, administered by Cricket ACT, for children with a disability to participate in the Kookaburra Cup. ...Read more

  • VISACT Blind Cricket team are a wonderful group of enthusiastic cricketers who we support each year.  They are great supporters of the Taverners, attending our dinners.  They arrange the annual match against the Taverners. ...Read more

  • Women’s Premier League Cricket.  In 2007 we started our sponsorship of ‘The Taverners’, one of three teams selected by Cricket ACT from all grades to compete over seven weeks in the lead up to selection of the ACT team, the Meteors.  The sponsorship and naming rights provide an opportunity to raise awareness of the work of the Lord’s Taverners within the women’s cricket community, and, more widely, through media coverage of the competition.
