SUPER 8 INDIGENOUS SCHOOLS DAY 2010
On 17 February 2010, a successful inaugural Super 8 cricket day was organised by ACT Cricket and funded by Lord’s Taverners. Some 65 mostly indigenous students from Queanbeyan High participated in a program aimed at allowing indigenous youth the chance to play a shortened form of cricket in a fun environment.
It is hoped that through this activity more young people in school years 7-12 will come to play cricket and feed into senior cricket teams. Several members of the ACT Imparja Cup team participated in the day acting as role models for the school children.
